Terms and conditions

Thank you very much for using AKITA Airportliner.
Before proceeding to book, please read carefully and accept the terms and conditions below.
These terms and conditions apply to the booking services (hereinafter called 「Booking Service」) operated by AKITA Airportliner (hereinafter called 「Airportliner」) which are made available online or by telephone for your personal use only. Any person who books the Airportliner services shall be considered to have read and agreed to the terms and conditions below.

Clause 1: Application of the terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to 「any person booking a seat」 (hereinafter called 「Person」) with Airportliner or through the Booking Service.

Clause 2: Booking Service

Booking Service means the booking services provided for the Person to make, change or cancel a booking online, by telephone or by any other means specified by Airportliner for travel on any Airportliner services.

Clause 3: Use of the Booking Service

3.1. Any person using the Booking Service is expected to abide by these terms and conditions.

3.2. The Booking Service is provided to make a booking for a shared-taxi service for one or more people. This service is available only if the booking is made by the times set forth in 3.3.

3.3. The Booking Service accepts booking requests made by 17:00 of the day before date of travel if they are made by telephone, and by 17:00 of two days before date of travel if they are made online.

Clause 4: Booking Confirmation

Online booking is not considered to be confirmed until a booking reference number is displayed at the end of a booking request, the Person receives a booking confirmation email with a direct link to the requested booking, and the Person verifies and confirms the booking details displayed on the booking confirmation screen.

Clause 5: Payment

5.1. Adults and children aged 12 years and older pay the full fare whereas children aged 3 - 11 are qualified for the child fare reduction and pay half of the adult rate. Infants under 3 years old are allowed to be on board free of charge.

5.2. The fares must be payed at the time of leaving the Airportliner service and in cash only. Credit cards are not accepted.

Clause 6: Cancellation of Booking

6.1. If the Person arrives at the boarding point later than the scheduled departure time, the Person will be considered to have missed the Airportliner service and their booking will be cancelled unless otherwise specified the clause 11.

6.2. If the Person fails to comply with these terms and conditions or if the Person is found to have committed or to have attempted to commit any behaviour prohibited in the clause 7, Airportliner and the Booking Service may cancel their booking without notice.

6.3. Neither Airportliner and the Booking Service nor the Person shall be liable to the other party for any booking unconfirmed due to Force Majeure.

Clause 7: Prohibited Behaviours

The following behaviours are prohibited.

(a) Making false or unreasonable bookings.

(b) Making booking for other person without their consent.

(c) Conducting any behaviour which causes or may cause an unreasonable interference with or detriment to Airportliner.

(d) Conducting any behaviour which infringes or is likely to infringe upon the right of other Persons or third party or that causes or may cause any damage to them.

(e) Conducting any behaviour which offends or is likely to offend public order and morals or that violates or may violate any law.

(f) Conducting any other behaviour which is considered inappropriate by Airportliner.

Clause 8: Change or Cancellation of Booking and Cancellation Penalty

The Person may change or cancel their booking free of charge if the request is made by telephone by 17:00 of the day before departure (or by 17:00 of two days before if online).
If the cancellation request is made after the time set forth above, the following cancellation penalty will be charged.

(a) If the cancellation request is made after 17:00 of the day before: 50% of the full fare

(b) If the cancellation request id made on the date of travel or no-show: 100% of the full fare

Clause 9: Booking Policy

9.1. Booking Acceptance (Period and Time)
Airportliner accepts bookings from one month before the date of travel to 17:00 of the day before departure.
Airportliner booking office is open from 9:00 to 17:00.
Other than the contact number for booking, Airportliner will inform the Person about other contact which is open before and after its operation hours. The Person may contact that number only if they have to cancel their booking for the following day service.

9.2. Minimum connection times between flight and the Airportliner service
For a smooth connection between flight and the Airportliner service, please consider to give yourself adequate time as follows.
・Taking Airportliner service to Akita Airport: Book a service that arrives at the airport at least 25 minutes before the flight departure time.
(At least 60 minutes if the flight is to Seoul.)
・Taking Airportliner service from Akita Airport. Book a service that departs from the airport at least 10 minutes after the flight arrival time.
(At least 30 minutes if the flight is from Seoul.)

9.3. Animals and Wheelchairs
No dogs or any other animals but assistance dogs are permitted to be on board of any Airportliner service.
The Person must mention at the time of booking that they will be traveling with their wheelchairs and that they will be on board with accompanying person(s). And the Person must inform the Airportliner service companies at the time of the booking if they will carry other than folding wheelchairs (of the size that which can fit in the boot.)

9.4. Luggage Allowance
The Person is allowed to travel on any Airportliner service with one luggage per person (L 155 cm x W 55 cm max.)

Clause 10: Boarding

10.1. Airportliner Vehicle
The type of Airportliner vehicle depends on the number of passengers booked for the same service.

10.2. Pick-up and Drop-off points.
(a) Boarding point at Akita Airport
The boarding point at Akita Airport is located about 20 meters from the airport building. To get there, take the exit on the arrival level, cross at a pedestrian crossing, then turn left.
There's also Airportliner blue sign there. Passengers are asked to come to the boarding point by themselves and have a wash before departure. The Airportliner service will wait for passengers even if they have only 10 minutes available as connecting time between flight to the service as long as the booking is confirmed.
※The boarding point at Akita Airport may be replaced with short notice whenever it's necessary.
(b) Other pick-up and drop-off points
The Airportliner service will pick up and drop off passengers at the designated points and time as specified in the booking. The pick-up and drop-off time may vary due to traffic or other conditions. The passengers are requested to arrive at the boarding point at least 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time for that Airportliner service.

10.3. Boarding Time
The Airportliner service will pick up and drop off the Person at the designated points and time as specified in the booking made through the Booking Service. The pick-up and drop-off time may vary due to traffic or other conditions. The Person is requested to arrive at the boarding point at least 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time for that Airportliner service.

Clause 11: Flight Delays

11.1. In case the service is booked for the Person and other group of passengers
The Airportliner service may postpone departure time for about 10 minutes as long as other passengers agree with it. If the Person arrives later than that, they will be considered to have missed the service.

11.2. In case the service is booked for the Person only
If the Person arrives about 30 minutes later than the scheduled departure time, they will be considered to have missed the service. That time may vary in case the vehicle is scheduled to be used for other services.

11.3. In case there's other service available (ex. next bus service)
If the service is booked for the Person and other group of passengers, the Person will be considered to have missed it. If the service is booked for the Person only, they're allowed to take the next service available.

11.4. In case the Person have booked a Tamagawa route service in winter
Due to the night-time road closure scheduled in winter between Lake Tazawa and Shin-Tamagawa Hot Spring, the Airportliner service will wait for the Person as much as possible and as long as it will then be able to reach the final destination of the service.

Clause 12: Person miss or may miss a flight from Akita Airport due to service delays

If the Airportliner service arrives late at the airport due to weather or traffic conditions, the following will apply.

(a) If the Airportliner service will make it to arrive at the airport 15 minutes before the boarding gate is scheduled to be closed, the driver will explain it to passengers and the Airportliner service will continue the journey.

(b) If the Airportliner service will not make it to arrive at the airport 15 minutes before the boarding gate is scheduled to be closed, the driver will explain it to passengers and also inform it to the Airline companies.

(c) If the Airportliner is not able to avoid late arrival (and the Person misses a flight), the Person should reschedule the flight by themselves.

Clause 13: Liability

The Airportliner service companies (「Companies」) shall have no liability whatsoever for any delay or failure to carry the Person or for breach of contract, where such delay or failure is caused by flight delays and cancellations, unforeseen traffic delays and accidents, severe weather conditions, or any other circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the Companies.

Clause 14: Personal Data

The personal data and the usage history of the Person and their accompanying person(s) provided to Airportliner through the Booking Service will be used and processed according the Privacy Policy set forth by Airportliner.

Clause 15: Suspension on Online Booking Service

Airportliner may temporarily suspend the online booking service without notice to carry out a server maintenance or whenever it's necessary in an emergency.

Clause 16: Disclaimer

16.1. Airportliner will have no liability whatsoever for any inconvenience or damage caused to a third party by the Person in relation to their usage of the Booking Service, and such shall be settled on the Person's and the third party's own responsibilities.

16.2. Airportliner will have no liability whatsoever if the Person fails to use the Booking Service due to any internet connection problem or any inconvenience or damage which arises in relation to the case described in 16.1.

Clause 17: Miscellaneous

17.1. The Airportliner's General Conditions of Carriage will apply to any event to which these terms and conditions are not applicable.

17.2. Airportliner reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. The amendments will then be notified to Persons.

17.3. Matters not stipulated in these terms and conditions and any other ambiguities which arise in relation to these terms and conditions shall be settled through consultation in good faith by the parties.

17.4. Both parties shall consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court that has jurisdiction over the place of address of Airportliner in relation to any matter which arises related to these terms and conditions and that has not been settled through consultation by the parties, and such matter shall be settled in accordance with Japanese laws and regulations.

Additional clauses
   1. These terms and conditions are effective from 1st June, 2007.
   2. These terms and conditions are effective from 1st February, 2008.
   3. These terms and conditions are effective from 12th July, 2012.
   4. These terms and conditions are effective from 25th July, 2012.
   5. These terms and conditions are effective from 7th January, 2012.
